Colored Bath Salts with Janice Cox

  • Author: Janice Cox
  • Yield: 12 ounces 1x

Description

Bath salts are so much fun to make and nothing could be easier. You can have hundreds of different salts in a matter of no time at all. All you need is a combination of natural salt such as Epsom, sea salt and kosher salt and some color. You can also scent your salts and you will have a gift that will rival any store bought bath salt!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Epsom salts
  • 1 /2 cup rock salt or kosher salt
  • Food Coloring ( for a wider variety of colors look for paste varieties used in cake decorating)
  • Essential oils

Instructions

  1. Place the salts in a large plastic zip loc bag or glass bowl. Add a few drops of coloring and close the bag. Massage until the color is evenly distributed. You may add more color if you like. If the color is too dark add more salt. Add a few drops of scent and massage the salts again until well mixed. Pour into a clean jar or pretty gift container. To use: Add a scoop to your bath while filling the tub with warm water.
