Can you tell how much I love kitchen toys? I really get giddy about them. My kids cringe when I pass a Williams Sonoma or Sur La Table store, as they know that they’ll have to drag me out of there. It’s just so much fun to check out what’s new.
So here are a few more kitchen toys that I thought needed a place on the list. The first is this ice cream maker from DeLonghi. It’s amazing, quiet, and doesn’t require pre-freezing of the bowl. You can also make batch after batch, and the bowl is removable too. I love this machine!
Doughnut pans! How cool are they? They’re under $10, and are super easy to find in stores these days. I’ve also seen some electric versions under $25, which are pretty dang cool too.
Pressure cookers! What can you say about an appliance that will cook your beans in under 10 minutes? I say gimme! I’m a longtime fan of pressure cookers. They are super awesome for vegan cooks, since beans, grains, soups and stews make up the bulk of our meals. I’m not kidding when I say that soaked beans cook in under 10 minutes, and oftentimes under 5. And let’s not forget risotto. No stirring, and it’s done in about 7 minutes. I could go on and on about pressure cookers. I think that this one is especially cool, can be found under $100 and is electric.
Tune in tomorrow for another piece of my list.
