Although I have been teaching cooking classes for many years, I’ve decided to start doing virtual classes. The first one that I’m offering is Sushi Party! This class is going to be so much fun. You’ll learn all of the basics of sushi making, plus fun sauces, fillings, a signature cocktail and more! You’ll also be able to cook along with me (since it’s online), and can ask questions too. You’ll even have access to the recorded class to watch it again. How fun, right?!
I’m also offering the class for only $30. Normally my sushi classes are around $70.00. I just want everyone to see how easy and fun homemade sushi can be. Plus, once you learn the basics, you can start throwing your own sushi parties at home! Here’s the link to sign up, and all of the details:

In this class you’ll learn how to make killer sushi rolls (including perfect sushi rice and amazing fillings like spicy tofu, crispy veggie rolls and more!), make a secret sauce that you’ll want to put on everything, create a signature cocktail, and also learn the tricks to throwing the perfect sushi party! Plus in this live on-line class, you’ll get to cook along live with Julie.
Julie has been teaching sushi classes for over 15 years, from Sur La Table, private and celebrity clients, and corporations like Apple, Nike and Columbia Sportswear. Julie is also the author of 9 cookbooks and countless articles and recipes in Bon Appetit, VegNews Magazine, Cooking Light, Vegetarian Times, Family Fun Magazine and more. She also appears monthly on AM Northwest, and has a Quick and Easy column in VegNews Magazine.
This class will be held live online on Saturday March 25th at 11:00 am PST, in the privacy of your own home. All you need is access to Facebook, as this class will be held in a private Facebook group. If you have any questions about the class, you can email us at julie@juliesoriginal.com. If you cannot make the class, a recording of the class will be available for you. Recipes, a shopping list, and the rest of the details will be sent to you once you’ve registered and paid for the class. This class is vegan and gluten-free. You will be able to cook live with Julie in your own kitchen. You’ll have the ability to ask questions during the class too.

I have a question………I purchased your creamy cashew cheese at the Gluten Free Festival last
fall and love it. I don’t see it in any of the nutrition stores and wanted to know where I can get it.

Hi Yvonne! Are you here in Portland? If you are let me know, and I can give you a list of the stores the cheeses are sold in. If you’re GF, there is one flavor that they sell (a bacon cream cheese) that is NOT gluten-free. The other varieties do not contain gluten in them though. It’s not actually our company, we just work with them.

specialty stores. It’s good to know that I won’t have to have it shipped via mail order.

Yvonne, the bacon cream cheese is the only variety with gluten in it. They are all dairy-free. The Natural Grocers on 82nd carries the block cheeses, and also Food Fight Grocery on SE Halsey in the Gateway District (as well as the Food Fight on SE Stark).
