We went camping last weekend and lucked out with a campsite filled with lobster mushrooms! It was completely unexpected, made for some delicious meals, and got us thinking about making videos again for our YouTube channel (Everyday Dish TV).
So we filmed a video of our weekend mushroom hunting expedition on the Washington Coast, and put it up on our YouTube channel. I’ll post it below, but if you haven’t checked out our videos before, I invite you to go check them out. We have over 100, with all kinds of recipes and visiting chefs. I think we started the channel around 12 years ago, and I find it hysterical to see all of my different haircuts and colors.
My husband and I decided it would be nice to start filming videos again, but in a new and different way. I’m already planning out new recipe videos to share, and will post them here (and on YouTube) as we do them. We’re also going to move all of our prior videos and recipes to this site (hopefully next week!). So lots of fun things in the works.
And if you’re wondering what happened to the Everyday Dish website, that has morphed into Rosemary, Salt + Thyme, which is my new business venture with my brother. We’re making and selling hand-crafted olive oil based skincare + soy candles (all plant-based, natural + cruelty-free!), as well as teaching how-to workshops at our studio here in Portland. You can check it out here.
Now, a question for you. Any recipes that you’d like to see me make in a video? I’ve got some fall dessert recipes + more in mind, as well as visiting some local farms and makers here in the Portland area. But I would love to hear your specific recipe requests too, or if there’s specific recipes that you may be struggling with (especially gluten-free ones).
xoxo Julie

Hi Julie,
Missed you and so glad you are back. Used to love your videos.
This is my request: my husband now has congestive heart failure so we have to cut way back on salt. I really need some salt free recipes. So far I haven’t had much luck.
Any suggestions you might have that would help give food nice flavor without salt would be very much appreciated.
I am sure I am not the only one struggling with this problem.
Thanks
Emily

Hi Julie,
I’ve recently had to get serious about removing gluten from my diet, although spelt and kamut are apparently okay, according to testing. I would love some recipes based on a gluten free diet and I’m always open to good cheese recipes. Oh and I would really appreciate oil free or low oil recipes.
Thanks so much!
Debbie
