I really can’t believe it’s December already. Where does the time go? I think I have an idea of where the month of November went for me. There were a couple of book proposals to tackle, a food cart remodel (check out thenativebowl.com to see it all live!), lots of family in from out of town (aka Thanksgiving), 2 TV segments and a cooking class for my daughter’s sorority. Whew, what a month! Believe it or not, I’m actually feeling pretty relaxed as we head into December. I used to go really crazy around the holidays with tons of baking, gift buying, decorating, extreme coffee drinking and very little sleep. It was also our busiest time of year, as my husband and I had a bakery and did custom gift baskets too. But as our kids got older, I started approaching the holidays in a much more relaxed way.
So, what do I have in mind for December? Baking (for fun), lots of long walks with the hubby and dogs (weather permitted), sewing, and just genuinely enjoying life. Of course, there will be lots of cooking and working at the cart too, but that goes without saying.
So how do you plan on spending the month of December? Do you have any traditions or fabulous vacations planned? How about cooking or baking that you only do this time of year? I’d love to hear what everyone is up too.
Oh, and in case you’re wondering what the photo is above, that is the new counter top at our cart, with our fabulously fun new Native Bowl buttons. Don’t you just love them?! I want to thank the incredibly talented team at Parliament (Nick, Lydia & John), for doing such an amazing re-design and branding of Native Bowl! You guys rock!

Baking, wrapping, eating lots of treats, singing and dancing with my son. All kinds of fun and a little stress. Book proposals, hunh? Very interesting! I’m here if you need a tester : )

my december holds: trying to secure a small business loan, lots of baking, milo’s 4th birthday, a holiday party (oh yeah, i should actually plan that and invite people to it…) and hopefully lots of snuggling under blankets with my dudes.

julie! I LOVE the new look of the cart and the site! Well done! You have such a great aesthetic eye. Also the buttons are cute cute cute! Last year I left right after xmas for 6 weeks in india, so I was feeling a little stressed. This year I’m just laying low, making homemade gifties, making my annual cookbookzine, and fun stuff like that. Also, THREE BOOK PROPOSALS?? Be still my heart… I love Vegan Diner so much, the idea of more JH goodness just gives me palpitations!

I’ll be baking a lot and, most important, enjoying my 8th month of pregnancy! It’s being an amazing year for me and I want it to finish in the best way. And I’ll have a vegan Xmas with my family-in-law too 🙂

I love your website – so beautiful!! And thanks for liking our vegan8korean website too! =)
For December… lots of reading, cooking, baking and loving is my goal! My brother from LA is going to be visiting for several weeks, so we are so excited about that.
Hope your December is a beautiful one! =)

Those pins are so cute! I went to Native Bowl when I was in Portland in June, I hope to make it back there in the next few years. I wish that the US was closer to Australia. 😉
My December is mostly working, though I randomly have a week off over Christmas, so I imagine lots of baking, reading and hanging out with the cats.

The new look of the food cart is great. I love the Vegan Diner cookbook. I use it frequently.
My December will hopefully be quiet and relaxing. I will be working, except for a few days around Christmas. I will be baking a lot. I hope to give family and friends homemade Christmas gifts this year.

Julie, The redesign looks terrific! I’m so glad you’re being so productive and busy. Vegans are really lucky at the moment, with fantastic new/coming releases from yourself, The Urban Vegan, Bryanna Clark Grogan and Dreena Burton! Wooo. Vegan Diner is the cookbook I simply couldn’t do without, and all of us Australians on Twitter think that you four should come here and run some sort of vegan conference!
My Christmas tradition is Bryanna Clark Grogan’s lasagne from Nonna’s Italian Kitchen. All the omnivores “ooh” and “aah” over it.. Can’t wait to get back into the swing of things. Glad to hear you’re having a relaxingish time!
