I am back! Seriously, the blogging hiatus is over. How do I know, you ask? Well, for starters I turned in my manuscript! I immediately felt like I had lost a hundred pounds…from each shoulder; ) Honestly, there is so much that goes into writing a cookbook (and this is my ninth book). It’s fun and fantastic, and I love every minute of it, but it’s also stressful too. Especially if you are a perfectionist like myself. So, until the editing process starts, I have a little bit of breathing room. Insert relaxing yoga breath here…
Also exciting and happening now, my newest cookbook, Vegan Pizza, was officially launched last week! I am so excited about this book, which is filled with all kinds of crazy fun recipes, as well as some stellar artisan-style crusts that are super-easy to make. And yes, there’s a gluten-free crust too, as well as lots of gluten-free toppings. I’ll be giving a way a copy of the book later this week, so make sure to check back.
And, last but not least, my new line of gluten-free baking mixes is finally here! I seriously cannot wait for everyone to try them. They are so crazy good, and easy, and no one will ever guess that they are gluten-free (and vegan too). I love seeing the look on everyone’s face when they taste them. These mixes will make your grandma proud!
I also designed the mixes so that they are open to tons of variations, so for instance, the white cake makes a fabulous cinnamon crunch coffee cake (see pic above), a crazy-good raspberry almond cake, carrot spice cake, mocha java cake, banana chocolate chip cake, chai spice cake, pumpkin cake…. You get the picture. The brownie mix is just as versatile, and I’m working on other new mixes to launch later this year. The website and store should be up and running (fingers crossed), by the end of this week. It’s juliesoriginal, com.
We’re working on getting the mixes into stores around the country. Until then, Food Fight Grocery here in Portland is carrying them, both in their storefront and in their online store. The link for their store is here: www.foodfightgrocery.com.
Don’t forget to check back in a day or two for my book giveaway!

We are SO jazzed about your mixes being on the market! I’ve posted requests on several local market facebook pages, asking them to stock them – with a link to the Julie’s Original facebook page. Sure hope they all contact you so we can buy them locally.
