These chocolate cherry almond brownies are out of this world! We’ve been sampling this recipe in stores around Portland this past week, and I have been promising to share the recipe. Here you go:
Julie’s Chocolate Cherry Almond Brownies
1 package Julie’s Original Gluten-Free Fudge Brownie Mix
2/3 cup non-dairy milk (I used plain soymilk)
1/3 cup canola oil or melted coconut oil
1 teaspoon pure almond extract (or sub vanilla if there’s a nut allergy)
1/2 cup dairy-free semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/3 cup dried sour cherries
In a large bowl, combine the brownie mix, milk, oil, and almond extract. Beat until smooth and shiny. Stir in the dried cherries and chocolate chips. Spread the batter into a greased 8-inch metal pan, gently smoothing top. Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 40 to 45 minutes. The brownies will be firm to the touch in the center, and be cooked and crisp around the edges. Let cool completely before cutting.
Enjoy!
